Presto Pressure Canner
Presto pressure canner is fine product, and popular enough that replacement parts are widely
available.since you can layer half-pint and pint jars with a rack between them. This becomes a significant time
savings when you're doing something like tuna, which takes well over two hours to process (with heating and
cooling). Make sure it has a rocker (weight) gauge as well as the dial gauge.Presto pressure canner is great for
home canning or cooking large quantities of food quickly. These presto pressure canners are more commonly known as
the all american pressure canners. The dial gauge will become less reliable over time, but the weight gauge won't,
plus, you can buy a new weight gauge if you lose a part or something. Another thing to know about prestos and most
other pressure canners is that you'll have to replace the gasket around the lid every so often. here are some
common presto pressure canners:
Presto 23-Quart Aluminum Pressure
Cooker/Canner: This presto pressure canner will be the last
canner you will own. It works great every time. Dial gauge is accurate and way better than just the petcock
and the booklet is very detailed, helpful, and provides even good receipes. I would recommend this
presto pressure canner to anyone, it is well worth the investment, electric or gas! This
canner is great and very practical. It is easy to use and holds a lot of jars. The Presto 23-Quart pressure
canner has the reputation, size and features. Excellent product with a very good direction/receipe/care book.
If you are looking for a canner that is easy to operate, has all the safety features and at a reasonable
price this presto pressure canner is the one. I was always afraid to use a pressure canner but this one with
the dial gauge not a weighted gauge is great.
Presto 16-Quart Aluminum Pressure
Cooker/Canner: This presto pressure
canner instruction booklet is very helpful as it gives you all the information you need to know
to can vegetables, fruits, pickles and lots of other things. It's very easy to use, easy to clean and I
couldn't imagine another growing season without it. This presto pressure canner is much
faster than my old one, heats up faster, cools down faster, and does the job wonderfully well. The dial gauge
is no problem, just takes a little adjustment. Be very careful adjusting electric heat because sharp
increases and decreases in heat can cause liquid to boil out of jars. The canner is pretty simple to use and
operate durring canning. It holds 10 pint jars and 8 quarts. It does have a dial and not a weighted gauge but
that doesn't bother me. Both types of gauges will work fine. It has a weighted pressure regulator and a
saftey pressure plug for saftey. As long a you follow the instructions, you will do fine.
